- **A quality floor.** At least a 4.0 rating and 15 or more reviews to be listed at all.

- **Confidence, not just stars.** A thin rating gets pulled toward the typical rating for its own category, in proportion to how few reviews back it up; a well-reviewed rating is trusted almost entirely as is. A 4.9 from 7 reviews is a weaker claim than a 4.5 from 890, and the order says so.

- **Recent counts for more.** A five star review from four years ago is not evidence about the crew working today.

- **One customer, one voice,** and a burst of reviews in a single day counts for less than the same reviews earned over a month.
